Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness

PLAY

Hamza Yassin showcases the breathtaking beauty of Scotland and its spectacular wildlife in all its natural glory.

In this 4-part series, some of Britain’s best-loved celebrities join wildlife cameraman and photographer Hamza Yassin as they leave behind their daily routines and immerse themselves in nature, getting up close and personal with Scotland’s most spectacular wildlife, on an escape to the wilderness.

In the first episode, national treasure, actor, and all-round funnyman Martin Clunes braves the elements as he joins knowledgable Hamza for an escape that brings back childhood memories as they go camping in the Inner Hebrides.

Episode two sees Hamza chaperone House of Lords Peer and broadcaster Baroness Sayeeda Warsi on an emotional digital detox to the Cairngorms National Park. Together they see some of Scotland’s best-loved wildlife, from badgers to a herd of persistent reindeer, and one of the UK’s most endangered species – the red squirrel.

In the third installment, actor and author Ben Miller accompanies wildlife expert Hamza on a rewilding adventure in rural Perthshire. Together they discover the power of meditating in nature and explore an awe-inspiring landscape engineered by beaver.

Finally, episode four sees Hamza return to his home turf to guide former pop star and broadcaster, the Reverend Richard Coles, on a wild escape on the remote Ardnamurchan peninsula, situated on Scotland’s west coast. From the islands to the Highlands, Scotland’s landscape is the perfect place for a wild escape.
