Nature's Cutest

As we all know the natural world can be tough and challenging at times, but it can also be nothing short of adorable. Fluffy white seals, wobbly-kneed fawns, playing polar bear cubs, adorable teddy bear-like koalas – so much cute it would be impossible to decide which was the most adorable. But why do we consider some animals cute and others not? What it is about them that makes us fall in love? Perhaps it’s those animals that remind us of ourselves? Maybe they look a little like us, or share a rung on the evolutionary ladder? Maybe their antics make us laugh or seem so small and vulnerable we can’t help but care for them. We’ve put together a line-up of some of the cutest creatures, nature has to offer, and we’ll try to work out what exactly is behind our love for them. Is cuteness deliberate, or just in the eye of the beholder?
