PLAY

Ultimatums, romantic stress, and health risks face three adults who are morbidly obese and trying to beat food addictions that could kill them.

Food has become a deadly drug for those trapped in morbid obesity. This documentary serves as a captivating glimpse into the terrible strain that this extreme condition can take on their bodies, minds and loved ones. Although they’ve each found themselves in this reality for different reasons, they all share a common goal: lose the weight and gain the life they’ve always wanted. The characters battle daily against a deadly addiction, health problems, and a stigmatized culture, but there is a glimpse of hope that these first steps toward a better life will turn into a sprint.

Three obese individuals reveal their daily struggles and the trauma that led them to use food as a coping device. From the secretly snacking Mom endangering her children, the Son scared that his parents will bury him, and the Recluse in denial about his extreme weight, each has a specific journey riddled with obstacles to their path of achieving a healthy weight.
