Our Everest Challenge: With Ben Fogle & Victoria Pendleton

PLAY

The documentary reveals many of the aspects of life around Base Camp during the ‘climbing season’ as the Nepalese Himalayas entice the hardiest souls to scale the world’s highest peak.

This is a very personal story of what it takes to climb Everest in the modern era, through the eyes of two well-known personalities, for whom the thought of ‘failure’ has always been a constant enemy during their careers. And the dangers are very real: altitude sickness, exhaustion, hypothermia and natural perils such as ice crevasses and avalanches.

This expedition unfolds 65 years after Sir Edmond Hillary made the very first ascent. Since then nearly 300 people have died trying to follow in his footsteps.
