Africa's Super Snake

PLAY

She’s twenty feet long, has no hands, arms, or legs, but will crush you to death in fifteen minutes. Even the thought of her triggers a primal fear through most humans. This film reveals the dark secrets of the rarely seen African Rock python.

Neither of the other Constrictor queens - the Green anaconda of South America nor the Reticulated python of South East Asia - combine both size and strength with unique speed and aggression as she does. Among the giant, cold-blooded snakes, she reigns supreme. Rarely seen, she has now reached almost mythical status with a gruesome man-eating reputation.

How does such a big snake go about her daily routine unseen? Why does no one know the truth about her life? What is her history? To discover all her dark secrets, it will be necessary to delve into a shadowy underworld.

This Queen has made her home in a sub-tropical Kwa-Zulu Natal valley. Half natural forest, half concrete jungle. Deer, birds, chickens and rabbits are among her favourite snacks. She doesn’t crush her prey to death. In fact, so great is her power she seldom even breaks bones. Cardiac arrest is all that’s required in her victims.
