Nature and its inhabitants are at a crossroads. Climate change, overpopulation, intensive agriculture, habitat destruction, overexploitation of resources and exploitation of the seas. Almost a million species are threatened with extinction.
Every year, 2,000 to 10,000 species disappear, never to be seen again. A dramatic pace estimated to be 1,000 times faster than during dinosaur extinction. Our lifestyle, political and business decisions are changing too slowly. But fortunately, there are people all over the world who work tirelessly for nature and animals and thus save lives and protect natural areas. Animal rights activists and scientists are the focus of Wildlife Heroes.
