A one-of-a-kind documentary that explores the extraordinary impact the small but mighty beaver has had on shaping North America—its geology, water ecosystems, land and tree habitats, and adjacent wildlife.

The film will be told through the enchanting and fun narrative device of one beaver’s voice, plus through the voices of his family and local beaver friends, as they explore the natural history, biology and newly-discovered science of their own species.

“Beaver Town" is a real education in beaver biology, activity and ecosystems—but it’s told as an epic adventure. Every story point is based on real science and documented behaviours, but told from the point of view of the animal characters. Through ‘eye level’ cinematography we will get to know the personalities of the animals, experiencing their hopes and fears and sharing in their triumphs.

We share the intimacy of family-time in their lodges, and imagine their ‘lore’ stories through gorgeous animated illustrations. This ‘mythology’ will let us access a bigger scale of story, bringing to light facts such as the deforestation of Tierra Del Fuego (as “The Land with No Predators”) and the beaver felt hat industry (as “The Human With The Cold, Wet Head”).

From the glint in a beaver’s eye to soaring aerials over meadows and valley wetlands, “Beaver Town” will present an utterly unique and fascinating vision of one of nature’s most unique animals and their incredible impact.
