The Magic of Mangroves

Mangroves are one of the most important habitats on Earth, vital to many of the planet’s most extraordinary, wonderful and endangered species. Everything from shorebirds and sharks to monkeys and manatees rely on mangroves for their survival. And although we tend to view them as a mess of tangled roots, mosquitoes and mud, they’re also crucial for safeguarding the well-being of humans.

With sea levels rising, more than one billion people in low-lying areas are now at risk. It’s thought that mangroves could provide one trillion dollars’ worth of sea defences if managed and protected. We need this beautiful bio-shield; bringing life and security to rich and exciting communities – both animal and human alike. Once we start explore this unique landscape there’s no doubt that we will be just as enchanted as wildlife by the magic of mangroves.
