Secrets of the Honey Badger takes us on an intimate journey to reveal how these formidable animals gain the incredible toughness that has made them legendary.

Every honey badger’s reputation precedes it. More so than any other wild animal, this aura of sheer toughness is a character description in itself. But how does a honey badger grow up to become a legend? This film features various user-generated clips of badgers doing what they do best and looks at natural history footage to find out which formative components of badger life lead to this fearlessness. From the moment they are born, honey badgers are thrust into a life of chaotic confrontation, facing off against lions, leopards and venomous snakes in the wilds of Africa on a daily basis. It’s astounding to watch, because badgers don’t seem to consider retreat. How do mothers prepare youngsters for such a life? What lessons are they taught?

Some of the user-generated confrontations are dramatic and heartwrenching, but they reveal the true character of this extraordinary creature, gaining our utmost respect.
