An Ice Palace Romance

Lori Marshall never imagined returning to her hometown of Greenhill; not after the humiliation she experienced as an Olympic figure skating hopeful who failed to make the try-outs after pushing herself too far. But when Lori, now a video journalist, is given a shot at a big job offer if she agrees to do a story on Greenhill right before Christmas, she can’t refuse. Plus, this may be her last chance to say goodbye to the rink she grew up on, since it is set to be turned into a condo development.

Lori spends the lead up to the Christmas holidays speaking with the community in order to understand how they feel about losing the old Ice Palace, and inevitably confronts, Mark, the arena owner himself. Lori quickly falls for Mark’s charm and his passion for the Ice Palace and though she tries to avoid her past connection to Greenhill, Mark instantly recognizes Lori as the daring figure skater who blew everyone away with her integrity. The more time she spends in Greenhill, the more Lori gets comfortable with skating again and she begins to realize how much everyone admired her for taking a risk all those years ago.

As Lori grows closer to Mark and his adopted daughter, Zoe, also a talented young skater, it becomes harder for her to remain objective in her storytelling and Lori finds herself choosing between her career in the city as a journalist and her passion for figure skating.
