The bigger the cat, the more entitled they are. Lions, tigers, pumas and jaguars are all at the top of the pile across the globe. But beneath them are other cats - big characters that do exceptional things in their shadows.

In the Americas it’s the bobcat, lynx & ocelot. In Africa it’s a host of lesser-known species including caracals, black footed cats and servals.

As we travel down the predatory ladder in Africa, we meet the amazing cats that have developed exceptional skills to hunt and survive alongside their big cousins.

As we travel through this feline world, we meet amazing animal characters. But we also learn that the smaller cats, faced with pressure from their own kind, can emerge as the most incredible predators in their own right. Hardship breeds clever adaptation and, ultimately, hunting perfection.
