Not only are our beaches the first place of contact with the outside world, they are also one of the most iconic and emotional symbols of our relationship with the sea: everybody has been to a beach. As an island nation, they define this country and its relationship with the world.We explore the beaches that made Britain – from some of its most popular and well known, to the hidden coves off the beaten path. Each episode will be governed by a central theme that shapes the narrative and focus with a light touch.
