MIGRATING TO MEXICO takes us on an epic journey, through 4 seasons, to one of the least known, most biodiverse countries on the planet with unique and unprecedented access to its most spectacular wildlife events. Each year, Mexico’s deserts, jungles, reefs and mountains transform into a sanctuary for millions of creatures - from 40-ton Gray Whales, over 90,000 Olive Ridley turtles and flocks of American flamingos looking for a place to nest to swarms of tiny Monarch butterflies.

Each of Mexico’s unique biomes, uncovers the staggering biodiversity it has to offer through major migrations, which forms the backbone of this incredible story. In Baja California, follow the migration of over 40,000 Gray whales as they journey north, with their calves, through a gauntlet of killer whales. As winter waters Mexico’s seasonal seas, huge upwelling of plankton draws millions of pelagic red crabs and vast schools of acrobatic eagle rays in from the Pacific. While millions monarch butterflies prepare for the longest insect migration on Earth in the ancient mountain forests of Michoacán.

The migrations trigger a time when each of these unique biomes are at their liveliest; this is when every individual animal battles to stand out in the crowd and engage in dramatic and complex behaviors in the quest to mate, feed, and survive.
