Across Oman’s deserts, mountains and shores, remarkable wildlife and living traditions reveal the enduring bonds between people and nature.

In the Omani desert, a single ghaf tree supports a whole community of wildlife, while providing shade and fodder for Bedouin livestock. It is one of many connections explored in Amazing Oman, a journey through a country where human lives and the natural world have been intertwined for millennia.

In remote mountains, camera traps reveal elusive Arabian leopards and wolves. Along the coast, women gather food from tidal flats using knowledge passed from mother to daughter, sharing these rich feeding grounds with millions of migrating birds. Ancient frankincense routes trace Oman’s links with three continents, while its camel and Arabian horse traditions remain part of everyday life.

Today, conservationists are helping Arabian oryx return to the desert, and young ‘Turtle Commandos’ are protecting vulnerable hatchlings on the shore. Through these encounters, the film explores how an ancient relationship with nature is being carried forward by the people safeguarding it today.
