Little Dogs - Big Personalities

There’s huge variety in the canine clan, but one thing unites all the little dog families: their big personalities.

They might not look as impressive as wolves, but the little dogs of the world are just as complex and endearing – and just as capable hunters, too! It’s dog-eat-dog out there, so each species must find its own way to make a living in a dangerous world. Today there are thirty-four species of dog, inhabiting every continent except the Antarctic. Evolving forty-five million years ago, they were one of the first modern mammal families to appear. The little dogs are all descended from this long, incredible successfully family tree.

By following several dog families from across the world, we’ll see the similarities and differences in how the live, from how they interact and defend themselves to how they find food. There’s huge variety in the canine clan, but one thing unites all the little dog families: their big personalities.
