Being a wild mum is one of the toughest jobs on earth. From the second a mother gives birth, everything changes. No longer footloose and fancy free, they find themselves completely responsible for tiny, delicate little lives – lives that would be helpless without them.
For some, being a mother comes naturally, whilst for others it will take a little practoce. But while the responsibility is immense, being a mum is also incredible. The centre of their babies’ world, mums will nurture, teach and care for their youngsters until they can survive on their own. From the largest elephant to the smallest insect and even our own human mothers, wild mums have their work cut out from the very first breath their children take. It’s a relentless and sometimes seemingly insurmountable task, but being a wild mum is the best job on earth!
