The North Shore is both strikingly beautiful and notoriously dangerous due to its jagged drop offs and dense forests. Its topography, combined with its proximity to the city of Vancouver, make for dramatically challenging and “popular” rescue terrain.
With over 150 call outs a year, membership in NSR entails no small level of personal sacrifice. Through the lens of real rescues, we get to know some of the dedicated people who give their time to the busiest volunteer search and rescue organization in the country.
